Practical, funded projects that support farm businesses and the environment across west Fermanagh.
A nine-month digital storytelling project delivered jointly with Leitrim Sustainable Agriculture Group (LSAG). Farmers from both groups are building skills in recording, editing, and sharing stories from their communities using accessible digital tools.
The project strengthens cross-border relationships between two grassroots farming groups and leaves each with a lasting digital storytelling capacity.
A cross-community programme bringing primary school pupils onto local farms for structured, repeated hands-on learning — from pond dipping to hands-on farm activities — delivered across host farms in the catchment.
The programme is approved and at Letter of Offer stage, with delivery coordinated in partnership with participating schools and a QUB researcher.
On-the-ground restoration work improving water quality and habitat across the catchment — delivered by and for local farmers. Funded in 2025.
Equipped WFFC's cluster office with the basic tools needed to operate — printing, display, and presentation equipment. Early-stage support that helped build WFFC's operational foundation as a new farmer-led organisation.
Riverbank fencing works underway as part of the NIEA Environment Fund Water Quality Project, protecting water margins and improving habitat along the catchment's rivers.
Alongside our funded projects, WFFC hosts and supports events that bring farmers together to share knowledge and build connections.
A shearing demonstration and wool marketing talk held at Oliver Keown's Benmore Farm, delivered in partnership with Ulster Wool. The event covered traceability, certification, and getting the best value from a wool clip. Farmers gathered to see clipping in practice and hear directly from the wool trade.
We're actively developing a number of further projects. Details will be published here as they're confirmed.
